Udawalawe

Udawalawe is a spacious terrain defined for the gigantic mammals living on land. The key feature of the park being the gigantic mammals living in their natural habitat, Udawalawe reserves its identity. Residing as the fifth National Park it lies at the Southern portion of the country in the dry zone with the Northeast monsoons from November to mid January being the only source to keep the land wet. This terrain of scattered grassland and thorny shrubs rehabilitates the living style of the birds. As much as the mammal existence Famous locations in the vicinity are Wavulpane Limestone caves, hot wells and Elephant transit home.
